Biography
Dr. K-Raman Purushothaman MD, research medical pathologist with more than 15 years of expertise in cardiovascular pathology by evaluating plaque compositional changes in atherosclerosis. His focus of interest is to identify etiopathogenesis of vulnerable plaque features that includes neovasculaization, intra plaque hemorrhage, apoptosis, oxidative stress, inflammation, medial artery calcification and fibrosis using advanced histopathological techniques. He is involved in detailed study of plaque compositional changes leading to plaque progression and regression associated with risk factors such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension and haptoglobin genotypes.
